What is a Caramel Macchiato?
A Caramel Macchiato is an espresso drink built from three things: espresso, milk, and caramel. The espresso brings the coffee backbone, the milk softens it, and the caramel adds the sweetness and that familiar buttery note on the finish. It's a coffee drink that tastes like coffee — the caramel rounds the edges rather than covering them up.
Ours is part of our espresso-based lineup, alongside the Cappuccino and Latte. If you've been ordering caramel macchiatos at chains and want one from a small specialty coffee shop instead, this is the version to try.
Who is the Caramel Macchiato for?
The Caramel Macchiato suits anyone who likes a sweeter coffee and still wants real espresso in the cup. It's a good fit if:
- You find straight espresso or an Americano a little too sharp for the morning.
- You like dessert-leaning flavors but want a drink, not a dessert.
- You're new to specialty coffee and want something friendly to start with.
- You're picking up coffee for someone else and aren't sure what they like — caramel is an easy yes.
If you'd rather go the other direction, a Cappuccino or a plain Latte gives you the same espresso with no added sweetness. Our guide to latte vs. cappuccino vs. americano walks through the differences.
What else should I order if I want something sweet?
If the Caramel Macchiato isn't quite what you're after, two drinks on our menu land nearby. The Latte is the gentlest espresso drink we make — more milk, no caramel, easy to drink slowly. The Iced Mocha goes the other way: chocolate instead of caramel, served cold, and the closest thing on the menu to a sweet coffee you'd have in the afternoon heat.
Also worth knowing: we make an Iced Latte, an Iced Coffee, and an Iced Matcha Latte, plus fresh lemonades in peach, lime and mint, mandarin, and plain lemon. In South Florida, a cold drink is never the wrong call.

Is the Caramel Macchiato good with cake?
Yes — a caramel-sweetened espresso drink pairs naturally with our cakes, which are made in-house daily and sold by the slice. Caramel sits comfortably next to nuts and chocolate, so the Snickers cake and the Chocolate & Blueberry are easy matches. If you'd rather balance the sweetness with something lighter, the Pistachio & Raspberry or the Honey & Raspberry brings fruit and acidity into the picture.
We also make Honey Cake — medovik, the Eastern European classic of many thin honey layers with a soft cream filling — and Napoleon, thin puff-pastry layers with custard cream. For more pairing ideas, see our notes on coffee and cake pairings.

Where can I get a caramel macchiato near me?
We're at 698 East McNab Road in north Pompano Beach, open 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM every day of the week, including weekends. Dine in with a slice of cake, or take your macchiato with you.
Guests come to us from around Broward County — Lighthouse Point is about five minutes away by car, and Deerfield Beach and Fort Lauderdale aren't much farther. The phone number is +1 786-606-1786 if you have a question about the menu.
Here's what one guest said about the coffee itself:
"I stopped there just to grab a quick coffee, and now I honestly have a hard time drinking coffee anywhere else! The flavor is smooth, rich, and never burnt." — Nataliia, Google review
What makes New Level a specialty coffee shop?
New Level Coffee & Bakery is a small, independently run specialty coffee shop — the whole menu is built around espresso. Espresso, Americano, Cappuccino, Latte, Caramel Macchiato and Iced Latte are the core, and we're top-rated on Google, with the cappuccino coming up again and again in guest reviews.
The bakery side exists because coffee is better with something next to it: cakes by the slice, cinnamon rolls in several flavors, a Strawberry Cheesecake Dessert Cup, Chicken Quiche and beef samsa. You can see the full coffee lineup on our home page, and if you're working for the afternoon, we have fast free Wi-Fi and comfortable seating.
