What should a first-timer order?
Start with a cappuccino or a latte and one slice of cake — that's the clearest read on the place. The coffee side is espresso-based: espresso, americano, cappuccino, latte, caramel macchiato, and an iced latte when the walk from the car was enough heat for one day.
On the cake side, three worth knowing:
- Honey Cake (medovik) — many thin honey layers with a soft cream filling, traditionally sour-cream based. A classic of Eastern European baking, and the one people come back for.
- Napoleon — the Eastern European mille-feuille: many thin puff-pastry layers with custard cream between them.
- Chocolate & Blueberry — chocolate with blueberry, for anyone who finds honey cake too gentle.
Also by the slice: Pistachio & Raspberry, Strawberry, Snickers, and Honey & Raspberry. The cakes are made in-house daily and sold by the slice, so you can order two and settle an argument.
What do you drink when it's too hot for coffee?
A lemonade — there are five of them. Fresh Lemonade is the baseline, then Peach, Lime & Mint, Mandarin, and Strawberry. They're the right answer in August, and they're the reason a lot of people walk out with a cup in each hand.
If you still want caffeine but not heat: Iced Coffee, Iced Latte, Iced Mocha, Iced Matcha Latte, or Iced Tea Premium. There are premium teas as well if you'd rather have something hot and quiet.
Is there anything to eat besides dessert?
Yes — there are savory bakes alongside the sweet ones. Chicken Quiche and beef samsa are the two to know: the quiche if you want something you can sit down with, the samsa if you want one thing in your hand on the way out.
On the sweeter end of breakfast, the cinnamon rolls come in several flavors, including a Caramel Peanut version that's soft, gooey, and loaded with caramel and peanuts. There's also a Strawberry Cheesecake Dessert Cup — cheesecake filling, strawberry sauce, cookie crumb — if you want dessert without committing to a whole slice.
Can you work there for a couple of hours?
Yes. There's fast free Wi-Fi and comfortable seating, and bringing a laptop is genuinely welcome — the shop says so itself. If you're commuting between Deerfield Beach and Fort Lauderdale and need a place to land between calls, the 7:00 AM opening gives you the quiet part of the morning.
